Erik Johansson is a Swedish-born artist based in Berlin who creates surreal images that often seem rather like paintings than photographs. Erik is an expert retoucher and uses a combination of "hundreds of original photographs" as well as raw materials and digital manipulation techniques to produce his pieces. Reporter Robert Krulwich wrote that Eric creates a "meticulous fantasy" with "so many layers of foolery in his images, you can't pull the illusion apart, it fits together so perfectly".
Eric says: "I use photography as a way of collecting material to realise the ideas in my mind”. If you want to know more about Eric and his work check out the latest news on his website or follow him on Behance.
